Use sQuid to pay
You can use sQuid to pay for the little everyday things such as a drink, sandwich or newspaper from the Abertay Union (and lots of Dundee retailers).

There are lots of great reasons to use sQuid:
• sQuid is easy to use and a faster, more convenient way to pay
• sQuid is not a credit or debit card, with sQuid you can't get into debt
• sQuid is a safer alternative to carrying cash
• sQuid is free to get and free to use

 

How to use sQuid

Load it
You can top your card up either online, at selected sQuid terminals in the Abertay Student Centre or at a sQuid store (our Dundee map shows which stores accept top ups)

 

Use it
Use your card at any sQuid terminal based on campus and in the wider Dundee retail community anywhere you see the sQuid 'Q'



Register it
Register your card with sQuid and you can protect your cash should you lose or misplace your card, top up your card online, check your balance and view your transactions.

NOT a credit or debit card
Never get in to debt
It is impossible to get into debt with sQuid. You can only spend what you have pre-loaded on to your card. There is no risk of spending money that you don’t have.

Why should I trust sQuid?
FSA regulated
Apart from the name, there is nothing fishy about sQuid. We are fully regulated by the Financial Services Authority (FSA), which means that our customers’ money is tightly controlled.

Is my cash safe?

Each card reader is protected by a unique security application module (SAM) that creates a trusted transaction environment from encrypted readers.
