18 February 2011, Devon

One lucky student at Newton Abbott College was today rewarded with a £25 book token for the local Waterstones, as well as having £25 loaded onto her Innovate cashless catering sQuid card for use in the school's restaurant.

The reward was made by sQuid, the electronic payments provider, as they announced their one millionth transaction, which just happened to take place recently at Newton Abbot College in Devon, where they provide the cashless payments solution working with Innovate the catering services provider.

Ellie Aggett a year 8 student at the College, who unbeknown to her recently made the lucky payment with her cashless catering card, was awarded her Waterstones book token and topped up card today by CEO of sQuidcard, Adam Smith along with Sue Lewis from Innovate.

sQuid provide cashless payment solutions for a number of schools across the UK, and are committed to offering low cost, easy to use electronic payments for parents and pupils. sQuid teamed up with Innovate at Newton Abbot College in July last year and have been providing a cashless solution at the school ever since.

Adam Smith, CEO at sQuidcard who made the award said, “We have been working with Innovate for some time now, and are very happy that our one millionth transaction was with one of their schools.  We hope that Ellie will enjoy her book voucher, and encourage all students at Newton Abbot College to pay with sQuid and enjoy using their contactless Innovate smart card.”
