Smart cards
Smart cards are an innovative way for Council's to support their community and those who live, work or play in them. As they become more prevelant more and more services can be added to them; evidence of your address, age, discount entitlement, access to leisure and library services, all with just one card.

A logical next step is for smart cards to be enabled for e-money transactions.

sQuid eMoney is an open network
This means that sQuid can be used on a stand alone card or be added as an eMoney application to other third party smart cards. For example, this is exacty what Bolton Council have done to their smart card family with sQuid eMoney on both their Bolton Smart card and BSmart card.
