Cardiff stadium has eMoney system

The new Cardiff City Stadium has been using contactless smart technology since opening this summer.

ECR Concepts, one of the companies involved in the technology provision at the sports venue, provides corporate visitors and season holders with the eCash facility so they can access the stadium.

Using the eCash system also means that people identify themselves and their purchases in the retail superstore, allowing the business to profile them. 

According to Stadiatech.com, this facility will be extended in the future to form a cashless e-purse that can be used across the site.

J2 Retail Systems, a manufacturer of touch screen monitors and point-of-sale hardware, is working with ECR Concepts to drive point-of-sale operations in the Cardiff City Stadium.

Elsewhere in the UK, eMoney network sQuidcard provides cards that can be used instead of cash to pay for various items.

It offers full transparency to both its customers and merchants as spending can be tracked online. Merchants can use the system to identify trends within their business and cardholders can keep a regular check on their spending.
