Cashless catering offers 'flexible and low cost service' for schools
26 Jan 2010

Schools that choose to implement cashless catering systems could enjoy a "flexible and low cost" service, according to one expert.

Adam Smith, Managing Director of sQuid, says that additionally, cashless catering can help to make life easier for parents and pupils alike, as well as lowering administration costs for the school as a whole.

His comments come in response to the recent partnership between sQuidcard and electronic point of sale company Cunninghams, which aims to offer more schools the opportunity to develop eMoney payment solutions in their canteens.

Pupils will be able to pay for meals in the school canteen with a contactless smart card, which can then be topped up online by parents who will be able to check what their child is eating and drinking while at school.

Cashless catering systems have already proved popular at Banbury School in Oxfordshire, where pupils have enjoyed reduced waiting times thanks to the efficiency of contactless smart cards from sQuid.
