Cashless catering 'one of the facilities' at Fourways college
5 Aug 2009
HeronBridge College in Fourways near Johannesburg, South Africa, uses cashless catering to allow its students to pay for their meals, it has been revealed.
David Klein, principal of the educational institution, tells The Times that eMoney-based payment is just one of the facilities extended to students.
He says: "We have a fully equipped computer centre and library.
"We also operate a canteen, which is run on a cashless system; pupils are given smart cards to purchase items."
Some 360 pupils in grades eight to 12 use the system at the college, which currently has a 100 per cent pass rate among its most senior students.
In Wiltshire, St Augustine's Catholic College has also implemented cashless catering using sQuidcard.
The educational establishment's finance officer tells sQuidcard that, since adopting the eMoney platform, staff have been able to devote more time to other duties as they have not been required to count cash.
