Contactless payment technology 'has numerous advantages'

Restaurant owners have been told of the reasons that they should bring contactless payment methods into their business strategy.

Kevin Harrington, who is the managing director of the Global Prepaid Exchange, has highlighted that "the benefits are numerous".

"Contactless systems reduce the time it takes to process each customer, which is particularly beneficial during the busy lunch time period and at events when everyone is clamouring to get served at once," he explained.

Mr Harrington added that the advantages of contactless payment techniques only need to be seen by the way the Oyster card has helped the London Underground.

This is because at busy times of the day, passengers on the tube can make payments for tickets and get through stations quickly and easily, the expert acknowledged.

His comments come soon after a Firstsource Solutions study found that half of people believe prepaid cards to increase in popularity in a short time frame.
