Liverpool school set to introduce cashless catering scheme
2 Sep 2010
A Liverpool school is set to adopt a new cashless catering scheme, it has been revealed.
Cheshire-based firm Taylor Shaw has signed a £1.2 million deal with St Francis Xavier's College to provide catering facilities to the school.
As part of the new partnership, the caterer will install cashless payment points in the canteen in a bid to cut queuing times.
Jim Lovett, Taylor Shaw managing director, claimed pupils at the school contributed to the development of the project.
He said: "We always relish the opportunity to listen to students to find out what they want whenever we plan new services but, in this case, they were actually an influential part of the selection process.
"It was their input which caused us to redesign part of the dining room so that we can provide a speedier service."
The catering hall will also be available for private hire, with all proceeds from these events going to the school.
