National School Meals Week approaches
6 Nov 2009

Promoting healthy school dinners is the theme of National School Meals Week (NSMW), which starts next Monday.

Both primary and secondary schools across the UK will be participating in the event between November 9th and 13th.

The School Food Trust and Assist FM are backing this year's event and it is hoped that as many people as possible follow the motto of the week and "get involved".

With the focus on food for a whole five days, schools may feel it is an ideal time to consider the way they serve lunch supplies.

A number of schools across the UK have opted to introduce cashless catering systems in recent months and doing so makes buying food at lunchtime an altogether more convenient experience.

St Augustine's Catholic College and Sheldon School in Wiltshire have both implemented such a system alongside eMoney network sQuidcard. Feedback from parents and pupils alike has been encouraging.
