School looks to cashless catering solutions without fingerprinting
18 Jul 2011
An education facility in Loughton has pledged to introduce a cashless catering solution which does not require pupils to use fingerprint recognition.
Roding Valley High School in Alderton Hill wants to bring cash-free payment solutions into the facility, but it has decided against introducing a biometric system, reports the East London and West Essex Guardian Series.
The school originally planned to start scanning the fingerprints of children at the beginning of the new term, on September 6th, but it has chosen to implement cashless catering without a biometric system - perhaps with the use of a card, headteacher Paul Banks told the newspaper.
Recently, it was announced that more schools in Wigan would soon benefit from the introduction of cashless catering.
Metrofresh, the catering and cleaning organisation belonging to the council, said the cash-free solution would help it to better suit the needs and demands of pupils in education facilities in the area.
