Sodexo acquire school catering deal
19 Aug 2011
Teachers hoping to make lunchtimes a more efficient exercise in preparation for the start of the new school year could be interested in a new school catering deal signed by Sodexo.
According to the Messenger, the facilities management company has signed an agreement with Altrincham Grammar School for Girls to provide catering services for the pupils.
The firm will carry out the additional service, which will create 14 employment opportunities, on top of its pre-existing cleaning contract in the institute.
Dinah Davies, Sodexo's Divisional Director, claimed that the new deal was possible to achieve as a result of the company's existing relationship with the school.
"We have built a strong relationship with our client and proven that they can rely on us," she asserted.
This news comes after the Yorkshire Evening Post revealed that more than 4,100 children in Leeds are missing out on free school meals, despite being eligible to receive them.
