Contactless smart card technology to go on show

Much of what is new in the contactless smart card sector will be available to view at a three-day event in Paris later this month.

One of the companies exhibiting equipment of this type at the Cartes & IDentification gathering in the French capital will be Legic Identsystems AG.

A statement from the firm indicated that it will be presenting "innovative further developments in its contactless smart card technology for secure personal identification".

Situated in hall four on stand N72, the company will provide visitors with live demonstrations of the LEGIC card-in-card solutions "for the seamless combination of contactless applications on a virtual transponder on its partners' latest technology platforms".

One area the organisation will focus on is the process of extending existing dual interface cards to offer multi-application credentials.

Smart Card Alliance Executive Director Randy Vanderhoof recently claimed that the next 12 months will be exciting times for the smart card industry, with a number of developments set to be announced and implemented.
