Contactless smart cards 'to be trialled at Disneyland Paris'
27 July 2009
Disneyland Paris is to trial contactless smart cards, with participants to be given discounts on purchases at the theme park, it has been revealed.
Up to 1,000 people are expected to test contactless smart cards at the resort from October.
Those who do so are to receive between 20 and 25 per cent off the value of their purchases in restaurants and gift outlets at Disneyland Paris.
In order to take part in the initial trial, individuals must hold an annual pass to the park and have a bank account in the Paris area.
UK users of sQuidcard can access a range of extra loyalty schemes when they register their card and use it in retail outlets.
For example, each time a registered sQuidcard is used in Domino's Pizza on Derby Street, Bolton, the cardholder is emailed a voucher.
This entitles them to a 50 per cent discount on their next visit to the store.
