Bracknell Forest council's smart card adds new members
29 Oct 2009

Department store Bentalls has added its name to the list of organisations and retailers associated with the Bracknell Forest e+ smartcard.

According to Get Bracknell, it is one of almost 40 new names that have been included in the loyalty scheme.

People who use the smart card can get various discounts when they present it at the affiliated retail stores and service providers. Indeed, over 150 places now provide tempting offers to cardholders.

Bracknell Forest Council leader Paul Bettison said that the local authority works hard "to sustain economic prosperity in the borough".

He added that the council is "delighted" more offers are now available and suggested that shoppers can get value for money on a number of items in the local area.

In Bolton, Greater Manchester, eCash network sQuidcard has teamed up with the town's council to roll out the UK's first multi-purse smart card.

Cardholders can now use the technology - which is ITSO-enabled - to pay for bus travel, council services and low-price items in Bolton retailers that participate in the scheme.
