North Yorks primary school asks children to decide on school dinners offering
4 Jul 2011

Luttons Community Primary School is asking its pupils to have a say in the school dinners offering at the education facility.

In a bid to promote the idea of school meals, caterers have asked children to tell them what they want to eat, reports Driffield Today.

Jenny Young, secretary at the school, which is located in North Yorkshire, told the news provider: "We asked the children to decide upon their own menu, and the choices have proven popular."

Acting headteacher Jo Mackle added that school dinners are "an important part" of children's days, which is why the school is placing an emphasis on making them healthy at the same time as being appealing to pupils.

Recently, Haworth Primary School in West Yorkshire received an accolade recognising the high standard of school dinners it offers its pupils.

It netted a 'gold' prize at the Food for Life Partnership Awards, the Bradford Telegraph and Argus reported.
