Fans profit from football club's eMoney solutions
10 Aug 2010

Coventry City FC fans have benefited from the introduction of eMoney solutions, it has been claimed.

The Championship side's Ricoh Arena has operated a cashless payment system for the past two years, allowing fans to purchase food and drink at kiosks around the stadium.

Daniel Gidney, chief executive of the Ricoh Arena, expressed his belief that supporters have welcomed the change.

He told coventrytelegraph.net: "The cashless cards have significantly reduced the serving time at all kiosks and have worked extremely well for the two years since their introduction."

The club have confirmed that cash will still be accepted at a third of all stalls to enable occasional visitors to pay for goods.

Mr Gidney added: "We would still urge fans to use the cashless system because it does cut down on queuing times considerably and this year we will be introducing a loyalty pricing system for the benefit of season ticket holders."

A full cash system was used at a recent England under-21 match and, according to Mr Gidney, queuing times greatly increased as a result.
