Gemalto announces its Cartes display

Digital security firm Gemalto has detailed which of its products will be exhibited at the Cartes and IDentification event in Paris next month.

Among them are various contactless smart card technologies, and point-of-sale payment products, as well as mobile near field communication systems.

Highlighting the benefit of smart card systems, Gemalto said: "From mass transit access control to ePurse for purchases in the transport network, the contactless card can bring the optimal answer to your market specific needs."

It added that contactless technology provides new opportunities in mass transit and identity management.

Some 89 per cent of exhibitors at the event - which runs from November 17th to 19th - say they are satisfied with their participation in the three-day showcase, according to the official website for the show.

Last year, the gathering provided the setting for an award won by eCash network sQuidcard. 

The company's end-to-end eMoney service, which encompasses contactless cards, retailer terminal application and online customer experience, was acknowledged by Gemalto for its "innovative design and features ... deployed on a Gemalto terminal".
