Ingenico launches new contactless smart card reader
15 Sep 2010

Electronic payment provider Ingencio has launched a new range of contactless smart card readers.

The firm has released its iPP300 series of readers, which includes both the iPP320 and the iPP350 devices.

The readers can accept both contact and contactless payments as they feature a magnetic stripe card reader which is compatible with standard cards and as well as integrated contactless technology.

This can help organisations save costs as a single terminal can be used for all card transactions.

Each reader can connect to any payment system via its USB and Ethernet serial ports, according to Ingenico officials,

In addition to the new readers, Ingenico has also developed a new payment platform called Axis which is designed for larger retailers such as supermarkets and restaurants.

All of the transactions made within an organisation can become more efficient as all payments are centralised while authorisation times can also be reduced.
