Burger King restaurants in Singapore set to accept contactless smart cards
24 Dec 2010
Diners at Burger King restaurants in Singapore will now be able to pay for their meal with contactless smart cards.
The fast-food chain giant has announced that consumers who use the regional e-money card ez-link can now use it at 43 outlets across the country.
Burger King has teamed up with technology firm PaymentLink, who run the payment and loyalty services on the ez-link card, to help launch the initiative.
Eric Foo, general manager of Burger King Singapore, expressed his delight at the move which will help reduce queuing times.
He said: "This partnership with PaymentLink to provide cashless payment will enhance our POS [Point of Sale] transaction process, making payments at our counters more efficient and speedier than ever before.
"We are confident our customers will appreciate the greater convenience afforded by this cashless mode of payment."
Ez-link cardholders who have signed up to the firm's loyalty scheme can also benefit from extra loyalty points on purchases at Burger King restaurants until March 2011.
