Contactless smart card usage 'expanded in dynamic global market'

Contactless smart card usage has increased in propensity as worldwide businesses are evolving in a "dynamic global market", a new report has revealed.
Reportlinker found that the use of smart cards has become progressively more popular with various companies due to rising concerns of data privacy, fraud and security.
The report revealed that contactless smart cards have proven to be particularly popular among businesses dealing with information technology, wireless communications and other commercial sectors.
Furthermore, it added that this increased uptake has propelled technological advancements, such as biometric identification, which has led to further growth of cashless products.
It was recently revealed that the use of eMoney devices could increase so much that the technology could totally eradicate the need for cash by 2011.
