eMoney solutions deployed on Miami toll road
16 Jul 2010

Motorists in Miami will soon be able to pay toll charges without the need for cash following the introduction of eMoney solutions.

From July 17th, the SunPass cashless payment system will be operating on the Don Shula Expressway.

SunPass users simply attach a radio transponder to their windshield which communicates with the firm's toll equipment.

Once a driver passes through the lane, the required fee is deducted from the customer's pre-paid account.

Cindy Polo-Serantes, spokeswoman for the Miami-Dade Expressway Authority, confirmed that residents who do not have Sunpass will still pay the required fee.

She told justnews.com: "They have nothing to worry about. Now we take a picture of their license plate - toll by plate. We'll send you a bill in the mail."

The Snapper Creek Expressway will also be operating SunPass toll roads from July 17th.
