Gemalto expands activities in Sweden into eMoney payment cards

Gemalto, the digital security specialist, has announced the expansion of its activities in Sweden to include personalised payment cards.
Financial institutions in Sweden and its neighbours will now be able to purchase personalisation services from the digital security giant.
The organisation has held the centre in Stockholm for five years and has already signed contracts to provide its services to major Swedish banks.
Security is always a concern in the finance sector and Gemalto set out to address this issue.
Philippe Cambriel, executive vice president of Gemalto's secure transactions business unit, commented on the expansion.
"Our enhanced Swedish facility enables local banks to benefit from the extensive portfolio of innovative services Gemalto already offers to its customers globally. It will also be capable to support introduction of advanced new products on the market," he said.
Gemalto is a global company operating out of 41 countries, with more than 10,000 employees.
It is one of the biggest players in the digital security market and has partners using their its technology across the world, including sQuidcard in the UK.
