Gemalto turns focus to Indonesia

Financial institutions in Indonesia are set to benefit from the presence of digital security firm Gemalto in the country.

The company will be installing its inaugural personalisation centre in Indonesia, which will locally support financial organisations' in their EMV migration - a process that sees such firms evolve to meet today's challenges relating to technology.

Once positioned in the Asian country, Gemalto will be able to help introduce new systems to meet the safety and technological demands of the modern world.

Tan Teck Lee, President of Gemalto Asia, said: "This new facility will also allow us to assist in the deployment of advanced capabilities such as secure online banking and mobile [near field communication] services for instance."

eMoney network sQuidcard is one of the platforms available on the digital security group's magIC3 range of payment terminals in the UK.

The terminals provide "an integrated platform" for bank schemes and independent programmes, according to sQuidcard.
