Ingenico introducing e-payment technology in US

Ingenico has launched a new partnership with Sage Payment Solutions to bring its contactless payment technology to the US.

The worldwide provider of payment solutions, which works with sQuid across the UK, aims to introduce integrated transactions to North America that are aimed specifically at small and mid-sized businesses.

Ingenico terminals will be equipped with Sage Exchange connectivity, allowing customers to securely process payments.

"Sage Exchange offers small and mid-size businesses a very safe and secure way to seamlessly manage credit card and other payments, using their existing business management software," said Lisa Shipley, Ingenico's senior vice-president of North American sales.

"Ingenico's partnership with Sage Payments Solutions extends well beyond traditional payment."

Meanwhile, the public transportation in St Louis, Missouri, is to be equipped with the capacity for travel payments using contactless smart cards.

Currently, more than 53 million journeys are completed on the network, which extends across 200 municipalities in Missouri and Illinois, every year.
