Smart Card Alliance boss issues thanks
30 Nov 2009

The delegates who attended the eighth annual Smart Cards in Government Conference last month have been commended by the Executive Director of the Smart Card Alliance, Randy Vanderhoof.

Industry accounts suggest that the event - which took place in Washington DC from October 28th to 30th and focused on innovations such as contactless smart card technology - was a success.

Writing for the Smart Card Talk newsletter, Mr Vanderhoof said that government speakers "did a fabulous job" in letting the industry know about the progress being made in security and identity management.

"Our selected industry spokespersons and analysts informed, debated and promoted the smart card industry's technology advances and implementation best practices for identity credentialing, biometrics, access control and cyber-security," he added.

Mr Vanderhoof has already predicted that 2010 will be an exciting year for the smart card industry and he has indicated that the coming 12 months will be full of news, web seminars, white papers and events educating the world on smart card technology.
