Grimsby loyalty scheme receives 500 subscribers

A brand new loyalty scheme in Grimsby has seen more than 500 people subscribe in the hope of snapping up a host of offers.

The Buy Local programme allows residents to support businesses and retailers in the area by encouraging more consumers to shop for their goods locally, the Grimsby Telegraph reports.

Andy Johnson, a butcher at Pettit and Sons butchers, said: "I am looking forward to an increase in trade when people receive and start using their loyalty cards.

"There are fantastic offers to be had and I am sure people will get a lot of use out of them."

People signed up to the loyalty programme will, for example, be able to purchase 5 lbs of sausages for £5, which saves them 70 per cent off the standard retail price.

The Buy Local card offers some 30 different offers and discounts and can be redeemed at a range of businesses throughout the Lincolnshire town.
