Hotel website expands loyalty scheme

An international hotel website has introduced its loyalty scheme to UK customers after its success in the US.

Hotels.com has launched its Welcome Rewards programme which rewards guests who book ten nights through the website with a free night at a selected hotel.

Visitors to hotels.com can accumulate their ten nights at any of the 65,000 independent or chain hotels which are listed on the website.

Alison Couper, global communications director of hotels.com, claims both corporate and casual travellers will benefit from the scheme.

She said: "Welcome Rewards is a simple, straightforward programme that can be used at any of more than 65,000 hotels globally, and is far more generous than the vast majority of hotel loyalty programmes."

The free night can be used at any time of the year and is valid for a maximum of three years.

Guests are still required to pay the taxes and fees for the room.
