Hurtigruten revises its UK loyalty programme target
19 May 2011

Cruise operator Hurtigruten has revealed that it is to expand on its initial membership targets for its loyalty scheme in the UK.

The company set up the 1893 Ambassador programme, which gives users a wealth of discounts to take advantage of, back in September 2010.

Since that time, Hurtigruten has seen 2,750 customers sign up to the loyalty scheme, with the cruise line now hoping to have 4,000 people using the programme come this September, Travel Daily reported.

Kathryn Beadle, managing director at Hurtigruten, commented: "We continue to work closely with the trade to develop this scheme with all of our newsletters and communications driving customers back to their travel agent."

In order to be eligible to take advantage of 1893 Ambassador, people must have spent a minimum of three consecutive nights on board one of the firm's liners.

Across the globe, the scheme has been taken advantage of by 16,000 fans of the cruise operator.
