Independent traders launch loyalty scheme in Luton
20 Sep 2011

A group of independent retailers have announced the launch of a loyalty scheme in Luton in a bid to encourage customers to shop locally.

According to the Luton News, the initiative - established by the owners of indoor market stalls - provides a range of discounts and offers through participating shops.

Launched over the weekend, the scheme is aimed at local people who have opted to shop at superstores in a bid to save money during the financial struggle.

Dave Gibbs, Manager of Town and Country Markets, expressed his excitement about the new programme and predicted a rise in revenue among participating businesses.

"We want [shoppers] to know how much we appreciate their business and that they don't need to trek to superstores to find good value for money," he explained.

Earlier this month, Sarah Cross - Managing Director of independent advice company Uber - suggested that data and insight were among the main benefits of loyalty schemes for businesses.
