Indigo launches new loyalty scheme
7 Apr 2011
A new loyalty scheme is being launched by Indigo Books & Music.
The programme has been called plum rewards and it is free for consumers to sign up to, CTV News reports.
When they have joined the scheme they will be able to collect points when they make purchases in store, which are then exchanged for discounts and benefits.
It is hoped that the new idea will entice people to shop by catering to their personal tastes, as they will be sent emails recommending products related to transactions they have made in the past.
Furthermore, the aim of the loyalty scheme is to get people buying things other than books from Indigo, the news provider continued.
Head of research at Octagon Capital Bob Gibson said: "It's tailoring rewards to personal tastes."
This comes after Pick n Pay, one of the largest sellers of food and general merchandise in South Africa, announced the launch of a new loyalty programme.
