Leisure loyalty card launched in Oxfordshire
19 Jul 2010

A new leisure loyalty card scheme has been launched in Oxfordshire which rewards customers for visiting the gym.

The West Oxfordshire District Council has formed a partnership with leisure contractor Nexus Community to offer residents the Community Leisure Card, reports oxfordtimes.co.uk.

Customers can collect loyalty points for every time they attend a participating leisure centre and use them to pay for sports and activities.

Cardholders are also entitled to a free or discounted gym session and can take advantage of the online booking facility.

Hilary Biles, district council cabinet member for leisure, young people and health, claimed the card is part of the authority's commitment to the promotion of health.

She told the news provider: "We were also keen to encourage those who don't usually exercise to come along and try out their local leisure centre. We hope the free loyalty card will provide an incentive for this."

The card can be used at leisure facilities in Carterton, Chipping Norton, Eynsham, and Witney.
