Loyalty card app receives barcode technology upgrade

A loyalty card application for the iPhone has been updated to improve its barcode scanning feature.

MyEchain, which can also be used on the iPad and iPod, is an app which allows users to store all of their loyalty cards digitally on their mobile device.

The latest update of the rewards card app, which is now available on the Apple App Store, enables consumers to scan their digital loyalty card from more angles and from a further distance.

Customers will therefore be able to scan their iPhone horizontally at the checkout in order to accrue and spend loyalty points quickly and easily.

"It's now becoming more and more common for store clerks to be ready to accept your phone to scan your loyalty card through your phone since they get them so frequently in stores," said MyEchain marketing manager of James McLaughlin.

"Our downloads of the MyEchain paid and free iPhone loyalty card app are growing exponentially."
