Loyalty programme unveiled by bmibaby
5 May 2011

People who are frequent users of air travel may be interested in a new loyalty scheme being launched by bmibaby.

The well-known airline is integrating location-based network Gowalla into its communications in order to introduce the programme.

As a result, those who fly via bmibaby aircraft will be able to earn loyalty points each time they do so, a first for the European air travel market.

To get involved in the scheme, those jetting off will need to log their visits to a bmibaby location on Gowalla before and after each flight.

They will then be entered into a monthly prize draw, which sees the winner being awarded with a pair of flight tickets somewhere in the firm's network.

Julian Carr, managing director of bmibaby, commented: "We are pleased to be working with Gowalla on this customer reward scheme. At bmibaby we embrace new social media initiatives. We believe this is a fun way in which we can offer our customers something extra."

Recently, travellers who use Redspottedhanky.com to buy their train tickets were told that they could reduce the cost of doing so, thanks to the website now a part of Tesco's Clubcard loyalty programme.
