Loyalty scheme 'could be launched in Kettering'
31 Aug 2011

Individuals living in Kettering could see themselves taking action to shop locally following proposals to launch a loyalty scheme in the Northamptonshire town.

According to the Evening Telegraph, chamber of commerce chairman Neil Griffin has called on the local council to adopt an initiative to encourage increased custom.

Mr Griffin, who is also the manager of the Newlands Shopping Centre, has received support from a number of businesses that would offer special discount to members.

As part of the plans, the loyalty card would cost £10, giving shoppers the chance to receive a wide range of offers across an array of the town's services.

"This idea, I think, offers a perfect incentive to get more people shopping on their doorstep, instead of driving miles to the nearest out-of-town retail park," Mr Griffin explained.

This news comes after residents in Birmingham were given the chance to receive bonus Nectar points for their recycling efforts as part of a newly introduced loyalty scheme.
