Loyalty scheme in Liverpool 'offers lifestyle discounts'
2 Feb 2010
Residents of Liverpool who hold an official Capital of Culture card are set to receive exclusive discounts thanks to a new loyalty scheme.
According to Click Liverpool, the contactless smart card was initially launched in 2007 to support the European Capital of Culture year but Liverpool City Council and Merseytravel transport authority now wish to continue its legacy.
People who live in Liverpool will be able to enjoy discounted meals, gym memberships and shopping, as well as unlimited free city centre travel.
Some 30 businesses in the city have signed up to the loyalty scheme, including Debenhams, Pizza Express and Coffee Republic.
Additionally, the contactless device will offer cardholders discounts on concert and theatre tickets, as well as local attractions.
Smart cards from sQuid allow retailers to provide rewards and incentives for loyal customers by using contactless technology to store value and enable transactions.
