Loyalty schemes 'a winning choice for retailers'
19 Feb 2010

Implementing loyalty schemes can prove to be a winning choice for retailers, one expert has advised.

Financial and Business Commentator and founder of moneymagpie.com Jasmine Birtles suggests that utilising loyalty programmes is a very cheap way for businesses to gain vital information about their customer base.

"To get the kind of information they get from using the loyalty card would normally cost them hundreds of thousands of pounds," she says.

But it is not just the retailers who benefit from schemes such as these - Ms Birtles states that using loyalty cards can be particularly beneficial to families who can accrue a large number of points and then receive money off goods in-store.

Integrated loyalty and payment eMoney purses from sQuid allow shoppers to pay for certain retail transactions with a contactless smart card, while retailers can add loyalty value to reward and incentivise devoted customers.

Additionally, sQuid's payment network allows companies to asses a detailed breakdown of transactional trends, allowing them to target customers with specific offers.
