Loyalty schemes: LoyalTXT comes to the UK
17 May 2011

Brits who are huge fans of loyalty programmes may want to check out a mobile phone strategy being introduced to the UK.

LoyalTXT aims to replace the need for a card to gain loyalty with a mobile phone number instead.

As a result, clients will be able to use the number to display short-term targeted promotions to customers, via text, email and voice messages.

Furthermore, clients will be able to access social media portals through LoyalTXT, which allows them to enhance their exposure and look to increase their member count.

Chris Morton, director of Mobile Marketing UK and a consultant in the hospitality industry, commented: "Once the business has collected the customer's mobile number, LoyalTXT does the rest automatically, sending out a sequence of incentivised, branded messages that the business owner has agreed in advance."

Many well-known businesses are looking at the potential of loyalty programmes, such as Clinton Cards, which is planning on introducing a card in an attempt to reverse dropping sales figures.
