3 Nov 2010

A new loyalty card scheme has been launched at University College Dublin (UCD), it has been revealed.

The University Observer has reported that the new loyalty card offers students the chance to earn one per cent cashback on all their spending in the Student Union (SU) stores and facilities.

Cardholders are also eligible for rewards such as a free coffee after a user has purchased ten and a monthly prize draw.

Paul Lynam, president of the UCD SU, expressed his belief that the programme will become a huge success.

He told the news provider: "It doesn't cost the students anything. It's free to sign up. Support your shops now and you will be rewarded."

The loyalty card function is added to a user's student card when they sign up to the initiative. Students can also gain entry to their halls of residence with the card.
