New loyalty card scheme launched in Kent
19 Jan 2012

A new loyalty card scheme has been launched in a Kent town in a bid to attract more shoppers to the high street.

The Westerham Loyalty Card is based on the lottery-based loyalty scheme used in the nearby town of Sevenoaks, reports This Is Kent.

Cardholders will receive a stamp every time they spend £10 in participating stores and will then be entered into a monthly draw once they receive a total of six stamps for their chance to win gift vouchers at member shops.

David Robinson, owner of Karrison Estate Agents and the founder of the scheme, told the news provider: "We're really hoping that it will bolster the profile of Westerham as a destination town.

"The scheme should help to encourage people to visit and see what our retailers have on offer that differs from Sevenoaks or Edenbridge high streets."

Mr Robinson added that the scheme will help attract businesses to the town and predicted more firms would become members once it is fully established.

Traders are required to pay a £40 annual membership charge to join the scheme.
