New loyalty scheme planned for Eastbourne?
22 Mar 2011
A new loyalty scheme looks set to be introduced in Eastbourne.
The Brighton Argus reports that Eastbourne Borough Council has plans in place to create a new card that will be available to residents living in the region.
Known as the Eastbourne Card, the aim of the programme would be to get people spending their money at shops and businesses in their local area.
The idea works by giving consumers the opportunity to collect loyalty points, which will then entitle them to money off at restaurants and theatres.
They will also be able to obtain discounts at local retailers.
It is hoped the scheme will reduce "leakage" and discourage individuals from heading to London and other places along the south coast, the news provider continued.
Eastbourne is not the only area that could benefit from this type of system, as the Ilkeston Advertiser recently reported that a loyalty card is being introduced in Erewash, Derbyshire.
