Nigerian airline launches new loyalty scheme
27 Jan 2011
Nigerian airline Arik Air has launched a new loyalty scheme for frequent flyers, it has been revealed.
The firm has developed the Arik WingPlus programme which will reward members who regularly fly with the airline with free flights, Business Class upgrades and vouchers for excess baggage on all international services.
Passengers will earn a certain amount of airmiles depending on how far they travel and what class of ticket they purchase.
For example, a business class flight from New York to Lagos will earn members 5,000 miles which can then be redeemed for a free domestic flight.
Those who flew with Arik Air between 1st July 2010 and 23rd January 2011 will be able to retrospectively claim up to 50 per cent of the airmiles they would now accrue.
Arik Air currently flies to nine different international locations including New York, Johannesburg and London, in addition to 18 domestic sites.
