Nottinghamshire town offers free parking with loyalty card scheme

Residents of a Nottinghamshire town will be offered free parking as part of a local loyalty card scheme.

Worksop shoppers who sign up to the Backing Bassetlaw programme will be awarded with a free hour of parking for every two they purchase, reports thisisretford.co.uk.

Fiona Humpage, economic promotions manager at Bassetlaw Council, claimed that Retford, another town based in Bassetlaw, may also offer the deal.

She told the news provider: "The reason the parking scheme has been implemented in Worksop is because that is what the businesses voted on.

"The consultation period with Retford businesses that have signed up to Backing Bassetlaw has started and will end on August 16th."

The scheme is designed to encourage more residents to purchase goods in local stores, with shoppers offered discounts in participating shops.

Over 100 retailers in the region are currently participating in the scheme.
