Ocado launches customer loyalty scheme
21 Sep 2011

Online grocery retailer Ocado has announced the launch of a new loyalty scheme that aims to attract regular customers following a period of slow sales.

Unveiled yesterday (September 19th), the Ocado Saving Pass will offer consumers a ten per cent discount of a range of branded goods in exchange for a subscription fee.

The company, which already offers unlimited free delivery, will also provide money-off opportunities on a particular group of products, such as cleaning items, as part of the deal.

Jason Gissing, Co-founder of Ocado, suggested that the scheme could bring security for customers during a period of economic uncertainty and struggle.

"[Ocado Saving Pass] will also offer great discounts in the run-up to Christmas, a time when we are all trying to economise," he remarked.

Last year, the online retailer was named World Etailer of the Year at a ceremony in Berlin for the Oracle World Retail Awards, beating off competition from Argos and Marks & Spencer.
