Oxfordshire town plans loyalty scheme
29 Jun 2011

Businesses in the Oxfordshire town of Didcot are looking at introducing a loyalty scheme for shoppers, it has been reported.

According to theheraldseries.co.uk, Didcot Chamber of Commerce has proposed launching a loyalty programme to reward customers.

A similar programme is already in place in the nearby town of Abingdon, with 24 traders taking part in the initiative.
At a meeting of the chamber, chairman Mike Foster said he believes a loyalty card scheme would be good for businesses in the area, the news provider reported.
"If all the independents sign up, there could be up to 60 businesses joining the scheme. Some independent traders are struggling with high rents at the moment and this could give them a boost," he added.

The news comes just days after online retail giant lastminute.com announced plans for a new card scheme, which it is hoping will boost brand awareness and increase customer loyalty.
