Ringwood loyalty scheme 'set to grow'
6 Oct 2009
New plans have been put forward for a loyalty scheme in the Hampshire town of Ringwood.
Businesses in the area can already get involved in the loyalty programme - which sees consumers offered discounts for buying goods from local firms - but the set-up is soon going to expand, reports the Bournemouth Echo.
Jim Stride, the businessman behind the scheme, told the newspaper that he has been working alongside local businesswoman Deborah Holmes to create a £2 credit card-style system, which will give consumers more choice and firms greater flexibility with the deals they offer.
Mr Stride said: "We've been asking local traders if they would consider signing up to this new style and the results have been really positive."
He added that the new project has attracted interest from those involved with the current loyalty scheme, as well as new traders.
Elsewhere in the UK, eMoney network sQuidcard has launched a new pre-pay contactless smart card - which also rewards loyalty - for Pizza Hut stores in Dundee.
As well as moving the city a step closer to a cashless society, the card allows people to benefit from a loyalty email voucher scheme whereby customers earn rewards and redeem them in-store.
