Superdrug to launch unique loyalty card
6 May 2011
Superdrug is the latest high street store to take up a loyalty card programme, though it intends to do so with a bit of a twist.
The health and beauty retailer will launch the scheme next week, with Steve Jebson, commercial director of the firm, telling Retail Gazette why he thinks it will pull ahead of rivals' efforts.
He explained: "It's a mirror card - one side of it is an amazing mirror, which is of course a handbag essential. There's nothing like it out there in the UK at all."
Entitled the Superdrug Beauty Card, those who opt into the programme have also been told by Mr Jebson that they will be getting more than just a piece of plastic too.
"Superdrug actually wants to build a relationship with our customers and ensure there is loyalty," he concluded.
Other businesses who have decided to jump on the loyalty programme bandwagon recently include bmibaby and Debenhams, the latter of which have done so with the aid of Apple's iPhone.
