Swindon launches loyalty scheme to boost trade
3 Jul 2012
Residents in Swindon are now able to sign up to a new loyalty programme in order to redeem a range of discounts in reward for shopping at participating stores.
Around 75 retailers and businesses throughout the town centre have now signed up to the new My Loyalty Card scheme, the BBC reported.
A wide range of outlets are taking part in the new project, with big national brands and small independent stores all offering shoppers who join the scheme special deals in reward for their loyalty.
Simon Jackson, a spokesman for the town centre management organisation InSwindon, told the news provider that he was optimistic the programme would help reinvigorate consumer morale and provide a boost to local businesses.
"When you have more people in the town that improves retailer confidence which makes them want to invest in the town," he commented.
Last week it was revealed that the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead is using the Nectar Card to reward citizens who give up time volunteering for community initiatives.
