Will Starbucks launch My Rewards loyalty scheme in UK?
20 Oct 2011
There has been speculation that Starbucks will roll out a loyalty scheme in the UK that it is currently using in the US and Canada.
According to Marketing Week, the coffee chain has registered My Rewards as a trademark in this country, suggesting it could be ready to bring it out in order to increase customer engagement.
While people can currently collect points for free coffee shots or syrup on the existing loyalty scheme, My Rewards offers stars for every pound spent via a reloadable contactless smart card.
Collecting enough stars to become a gold level member will provide benefits such as tailored special offers and free drinks.
The chain did not confirm whether or not it intends to start using My Rewards here.
Earlier this month, Campaign Live reported that Starbucks had asked a number of advertising and marketing agencies to produce pitches for an improvement to its loyalty scheme.
