Luup launches universal mobile payments platform

Payment solutions company Luup has announced the launch of the world's first mobile payments platform for use across selected banks.

The product, which was announced today (September 19th), could see lenders giving corporate and retail customers the chance to use a single platform to monitor their finances.

In addition, the cashless payment method could prove to be useful for established and emerging markets anywhere in the world utilising mobile devices, which is an industry first.

Martin Wilson, Chief Executive of Luup, predicted that the establishment of the new system could signal a major shift in the payments sector.

"We have created an international remittance eco-system for banks and corporates, connecting senders and receivers of funds across the globe," he said.

Earlier this year, the National Bank of Abu Dhabi won an award for its innovative payments applications through its NBAD Arrow solution, which was based on mobile finance services from Luup.
