Mobile and online banking 'being embraced in the US'

Many US citizens are turning to the internet to carry out banking transactions, those interested in contactless payment strategies may want to note.

Novarica carried out research which has shown that an estimated 38 per cent of Americans are now online oriented in regard to banking.

Furthermore, about 18 per cent of those studied are turning to their mobile phones in order to control the flow of money from their accounts.

The study has also found that online banking is now the most preferred option for bank customers in the US today.

In fact, the amount of transactions in this country conducted over the web jumped by around 25 per cent between 2007 and 2010.

In a separate study by web research company comScore, 20 million mobile users in the European countries of the UK, France, Spain, Italy, and Germany have been using their devices to obtain information on their bank accounts throughout March.
